Adel A. Saudi is a principal of ASA Consultants, and a co-founder of Tuareg Capital. He is Deputy Chairman of the Housing Bank for Trade & Finance, Algeria, and a board member of Jilavento, which has significant real estate interests in Spain. Mr. Saudi was a Senior Manager at Abu Dhabi Investment Company, co-managing a team responsible for investments in private equity, listed equities, real estate and alternative investments. He headed the post-acquisition department and was a member of the Credit and Investment and Alternative Investment Committees. He was a founder of Medvest Holdings, Cyprus, a private investment house focused on emerging markets, private equity and investment banking. He has also worked at Kidder Peabody & Co, Arab Banking Corp., International Bank of Asia Limited and Manufacturers Hanover Trust Co. Mr. Saudi holds a B.S. in Business Administration from Pepperdine University, California.
Abdulla Boulsien worked in Leveraged Finance with Merrill Lynch International, London, prior to co-founding Tuareg Capital. He held key roles within the bank’s high yield capital markets area as well as in the investment banking division. Through his career at Merrill Lynch, Mr. Boulsien has gained comprehensive and broad experience of a variety of industries, sectors and companies and developed key credit analysis skills. Important transactions that he was involved in include the leveraged buyouts of eKabel (cable firm), Yell (yellow pages directories), Jefferson Smurfit (paper and packaging) and Sanitec (sanitary products). Mr. Boulsien was also involved in structuring corporate bond financings for Alcatel S.A (France), Kaufman & Broad (France), Lucite (UK), IT Holding (Italy) and Leisure Link (UK). Mr. Boulsien holds a B.Sc. in Banking & Finance from Loughborough University, UK.
Dr. Nagib Serrag has an outstanding 26 year track record in the property and retail sectors. He began his career at Century 21 Realty, USA and in 1987, he joined the Tandy Corporation. In 1995, he joined the Majid Al Futtaim Group (“MAF”) as General Manager of the Trading division, and then of the Leisure & Entertainment and Telecoms divisions. Dr. Serrag helped establish and coordinate the Radio Shack and Sega franchises, and assisted in the creation of “Magic Planet”, a new Family & Entertainment concept for MAF’s City Centers Malls. In 2000, he joined Emaar Properties, Dubai as International Business Development Manager, and coordinated sales launches for the ‘Springs’, ‘Meadows’, ‘Dubai Marina’, ‘Arabian Ranches’, and ‘Emirates Hills’ developments. He also assisted in Emaar’s initial endeavours to enter the Libyan market. In 2003, he founded Insearch International, a property consulting firm, advising major GCC developers. In 2005, Dr. Serrag was appointed Head of Sales for large-scale projects with Tameer Holding, Dubai, and played an instrumental role in securing Tameer’s US$20 billion ‘Al Wadi Al Sharqi’ ‘mega’ project in Libya. Dr. Serrag is currently an advisor and consultant to Tameer for the Libyan market and a consultant to leading real estate developers in the MENA region. He graduated from Colorado, USA, majoring in Business Organization Structure & Behaviour.
Motasim Elalem began his career with the US Federal Reserve in
2001 as an analyst and in 2002 became an examiner. He was
simultaneously pursuing a Master's in Management Administrative Science
from the University of Texas. Mr. Elalem moved to Libya in 2005 where
he actively participated in the activities of the Libyan National Economic
Strategy through the Libyan Leadership Development Program. After brief
stints with the Libyan Foreign Bank and the Libyan Economic
Development Board, Motasim worked in Bahrain with newly established Injaz Projects, a mega-project investor and developer focused on the Gulf region. Injaz Projects was owned by two of the largest family conglomerates
in Saudi Arabia and focused on privatization and greenfield projects in the heavy
industry, petrochemicals and infrastructure sectors. Motasim brings strong quantitative and qualitative investment skills with a strong background in financial and business modeling and a strong
interest in strategy and technology.
Robert Murray Willis is a consultant to Tuareg Capital who acts as an implementation and operational project manager. He is based in Tripoli, Libya and is an experienced senior manager
who has a background in construction and industrial management. He has experience
in start-up exploration projects in oil and gas and mining sectors,
as well as in handling private and public sector projects in different sectors. Robert brings
a broad range of skills having gained extensive practical and
operational knowledge with planning / project controls, HSE and
permitting. His most recent venture involved establishing a Hydraulic MRO business in the UK, which
offered industrial hydraulic power unit design and manufacturing
facilities.
Dr.
Adel Al Sayed is currently CEO of UGIC. He previously worked with Gulf
Investment Corporation (“GIC”), Kuwait where he was responsible for all
business development activities in the six GCC countries, and he played
a key role in managing and exiting all of GIC’s direct investments in
Saudi Arabia. He worked as a Senior Financial Analyst with the World
Bank in Washington DC; as the Deputy General Manger with Rana
Investment Company in Saudi Arabia; and with Saudi American Bank
(Citibank) as Head of the “Corporate Finance & Equity Advisory”
Department. Dr. Al Sayed started his career as a Civil Engineer with
the Royal Commission for Jubail & Yanbu in Saudi Arabia. He holds
(i) BSc. in Civil Engineering, University of Petroleum & Minerals,
Saudi Arabia; (ii) MSc. in Engineering Management, Milwaukee School of
Engineering, Wisconsin; (iii) PhD. in Finance, George Washington
University, Washington, DC.
